191 Livestock Company is owned by Robert Brown & Francine Acord-Brown. Robert was raised on a farm in Nebraska, while Francine was raised on a cattle ranch in Northwestern Colorado. Life called and both pursued other careers separately, although in the back of their minds, the sound of a cow bawling for her calf lured them back to both their roots in 2009. After all, who can live a life without being up all hours watching calving heifers in a blizzard?

Stepping back in time....
191 was officially established in April of 2008. Initially, it was 191 Performance Horses, then in 2009 the cattle were purchased and the 191 Livestock Company was born! 191 comes from our Colorado brand purchased from a professor at Colorado School of Mines in 2008. Her grandfather owned "Browns Mercantile" in Kremmling, CO where my grandfather bought his first piece of brand new haying equipment (a horse drawn buck rake) right after the war in the 1940's. Later, in 1996 Francine had an insurance business (Farm Bureau Insurance) in the very same building and her desk sat where her grandfather's rake was displayed on the show room floor. We now have the rake which we plan to refurbish.
